  2. Configure tiles - Choose your tile size, shape, and laying pattern
  3. View the layout - See how tiles will fit in your space
  4. Export results - Generate cut lists and material estimates

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create an irregular room shape?

Start with a basic shape that most closely matches your room, then use the edit tools to add or remove sections. You can create L-shapes, alcoves, and other complex layouts by combining rectangular sections.

What tile patterns are supported?

TilePlan supports multiple laying patterns including:

  • Grid (straight lay)
  • Brick offset (running bond)
  • Herringbone
  • Diagonal

How accurate are the material calculations?

Our calculations are highly accurate based on the measurements you provide. We recommend adding a waste factor (typically 10-15%) to account for cuts, breakage, and pattern matching.

Can I save my projects?

Yes, all your projects are automatically saved to your device. If you have iCloud enabled, your projects can also sync across your Apple devices.

What export formats are available?

You can export your projects as:

  • PDF - Complete reports with layout visualization and cut lists
  • Images - Visual representations of your tile layout
  • CSV - Spreadsheet-compatible cut lists for further analysis
